RD Barrett was established in 1975 by Ron Derek Barrett, an ex employee of both DS & G Lathes and Ford Motor Company.

Ron saw a gap in the market... why should tooling be only used once? Using his expert engineering knowledge to purchase peoples surplus tooling Ron was helping companies improve their cash flow, in turn he was then supplying customers with high quality used equipment at a fraction of the cost and therefore helping them to be more competitive in the market place.

In the years since 1975 RD Barrett has grown to hold one of the UK largest stock of used tooling, along the way major companies such as Pratt Burnerd, Toolmex, Sandvik and OSG have given RD Barretts their approved stockist status allowing the business to expand into supplying both used and new engineering equipment.

The company is now run by Ron's son Mick Barrett and Justin Rushby who between them have over 40 years experience in the tooling industry and are happy to use their experience to advise on all aspects of your tooling requirements.
